Post Graduate Program In Supply Chain Management (PGPSCM) - Admission 2010 starts

The Post Graduate Programme in Supply Chain is ISCM; answer to unfolding global changes in business perspectives. It helps to lift ones career beyond expectations with a life changing experience. The six term rigorous fully mentored programme takes the work experience of participants into consideration and focuses on sets of courses which help make our students “Total Supply Chain Experts.”

The course will take into account the realities in today’s market place. Customers in today’s market place expect high quality, low prices, fast turnaround and on-time delivery. To compete successfully, organizations must improve supply chain management performance. As a result, well-trained, well- educated supply chain professionals play an increasingly important role in their organizations.

The emphases would be to help students specialize in Supply Chain Strategy, Retail logistics and Operations. Supply Chain Forecasting, Transportation Logistics, Production and Inventory Management, Warehousing Management and Shipping Logistics.

The Architecture

The program has been designed in a way to enable young, bright and fresh graduates to pursue formal management education. The program will provide:

Cross- functional inputs
Advanced knowledge in the areas of Supply Chain and Logistics Management
General Management skills necessary for being a good Supply Chain Professional.

It covers 30 modules spread over six semesters. In addition students will go through an internship programme in the Vth semester and do a capstone project with a company mentored by a faculty member.

The programme would be covered over Eleven Months.

Pedagogy would be interactive and will to a great extent be based on case studies, supplemented by lectures and presentations. Current topic workshops would also require participant’s active involvement.

Students will be evaluated on the basis of their participation in the case studies, projects and assignments. The case studies, projects and assignments. Each subject will consist of ten lectures of two hours each.

Third Semester

  1. Integrated Logistics and service providers
  2. Operations Management and Control to Operations
  3. Sales & Distribution in Supply Chain Management
  4. Using IT to enable Supply Chain Management
  5. Costing
  6. Global Logistics

Fourth Semester

  1. Forecasting & Demand Planning For Building Competitive Operations
  2. Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (CSCP)
  3. Supply Chain Network Design
  4. Supply Chain Modeling & Optimization
  5. Transportation Management
  6. Supply Chain Simulations

Fifth Semester

  1. Capstone Project & Internship
  2. The project will be based on their Internship with a Logistics Company where the participants are assigned a project.

Sixth Semester

This trimester would be specialization semester.
Students can choose any one subject out of the following:

  3. Shipping Logistics
  4. Warehousing & Integrated Logistics Management
  5. Agri Chain Logistics
  6. Supply Chain Solutions.


The Integration

The students studying for this course can also appear for:

  1. APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional.
  2. APICS CPIM
  3. Certification in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) from American Society of Transportation & Logistics Inc.
  4. Certified Professional forecasting from the Institute of Forecasting Forecaster.
  5. The institute has tied up with Indian Institute of manufacturing research, the regional representative of APICS in India.

Award
After successful completion of the course students will receive “Post Graduate in Supply Chain Management” Award from Institute of Supply Chain Management.

Institute of Supply Chain Management will assist students in placements in leading Logistics and supply chain practicing companies. The placement cell will also assist the rest of the students finding suitable jobs.
